FREE COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP FAIR EVENT (Annual)
This is only for Detroit Public School League senior student athletes.
Mission The short term goal is to make this event marketable so students, parents and coaches are aware of the importance of bringing college coaches in to the Detroit Public Schools to offer opportunities to DPS inner city student/athletes.
Enrollment Each player will enter the event with all the information needed for coaches to review. Transcripts, test scores, videos, pictures, position, height, weight and statistics will be available on paper and DVD for coaches to evaluate. Please arrive well-dressed as if for a job interview.
Introduction
The Detroit Alliance provides programs for elementary to high school students. This event helps DPSL high school students find colleges to obtain scholarships and funding. This event is designed for senior high school athletes aspiring to earn a degree and participate in athletics at the collegiate level. The event will increase an athlete’s exposure to colleges and evaluate athletes academically, socially and athletically to enable scholarship offers right there on the spot. We will employ sports- specific performance enhancement techniques to educate athletes and parents.
The College Coach / Student Exchange event provides very valuable information on the recruiting process, college time management, NCAA rules, and new eligibility requirements. This event will be taught by well qualified motivational speakers, life coaches, teachers and administrative personnel. They will be available to answer any and all questions at this time.
